Profile of Lawrence Craig Hill
Larry Hill is known and respected in the corporate world as an individual with integrity. His industry knowledge, coupled with his sense of duty to his clients has earned him a reputation as a business partner that can be trusted. This inherent sense of commitment and devotion are not only prevalent in his professional life but also in his personal life. Devoted to his family, he understands and accepts his commitments to both by delicately balancing the time and effort required ensuring success with each endeavor.
In December 1979, just one year after being hired by Goodyear, Larry sought after and was given the opportunity to join the Goodyear Production Squadron, a known and respected three-year management training program. After graduating as Class Valedictorian, he choose to accept the position of Radial Tire Supervisor. Larry's result’s oriented thinking is attributed to Goodyear Production Squadron's "it can be done" attitude and methodical approach to problem solving contributed to his growing reputation as a manager that could be trusted to get things done: Senior level management demonstrated their faith in Larry's ability with several promotions (including a Top Ten Club nomination) throughout his tenure with Goodyear. He was asked to spearhead a number of Quality Improvement Teams and initiatives and was selected to the initial team of supervision enrolled in an intense, off-site four month Participative Management Philosophy training program. Being a people person by nature, Larry embraced the new concepts that were presented and implemented the ideals that allowed his crew to surpass company standards and attain crew established records in productivity, quality and safety.
Between 1987 and 1997, Larry accepted positions as Health and Safety/Benefits Coordinator, Industrial Relations Manager, Operations Manager and Production Manager. Each of these challenging positions offered an opportunity to learn new skills and improve upon existing ones. Larry's knowledge and expertise in the Human Resources grew exponentially with each position, beginning initially with Health & Safety and then progressively branching into the other HR related fields. His interest in Industrial Relations, and Human Resources led him to seek out additional training through company initiatives as well as on his own time. While attaining his Ontario Management Development Diploma, he also served as Humber Division Chair and Rep at the Council of Representatives level within the Volunteer stream of the IAPA. Larry received his Accredited Safety Auditor (ASA) designation from the International Loss Control Institute of North America and was the first manager to attain the newly established Accredited Safety Manager designation from the corporate head office of The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company based out of Akron, Ohio.
Larry enjoyed a successful career with Goodyear on a personal and professional level. He played a significant role in formulating and implementing a complete Health & Safety Program from scratch (external audit rating from 30% to 80 %) and managed the Human Resources functions associated with the Corporate Division sale from Goodyear to Huntsman in 1992. Accomplishments that Larry takes pride in are two successful no strike contract negotiations and his significant contribution to the planning and implementing of a 20 employee off site facility that was built for a new technology process.
Larry left Huntsman in 1997 to pursue his most ambitious career goal, which was to form his own company. He offers his clients twenty years of industrial management and training experience. His company, HRCMS LTD., (previously L.C. Hill & Associates) has formed an associated alliance with Coll Health & Safety, Work Return, a First Aid Training Company and a Promotions Company, all aligned philosophically with a common simple service dedication for our clients – with one easy call. HRCMS is strategically aligned with a Placement Agency, an Environmental Technical Group, an Ergonomist and an Industrial Hygienist. As a Contract Management Team, this alliance offers clients a complete outsource solution, each of which compliments the other with specific areas of knowledge and expertise. |
